This chapel represents the most valuable example of traditional architecture in the Pokupsko region and is the oldest chapel in Pokupsko parish. It was originally built closer to Kupa in 1677 and was cared for by the locals. About thirty years later, it was moved to the hill and rebuilt, and it still stands there today.
It was created at the turn of the 18th century, so its structure and elements are closest to the original form of wooden log cabin churches. At the beginning of the 18th century, the pictorial beautification of the ceiling and walls began in the chapel, which was completed before the installation of the altar of St. George in 1725, which still adorns this beauty today. The local carpenter gave it an ancient shape, it rests on a foundation of rammed earth and stone, with sawn boards on the floor. Its construction is the most authentic.
It was restored in 1985 under the supervision of the Restoration Institute of Croatia, but troubles befell it very soon. The chapel was damaged during the Patriotic War when an enemy shell passed through the side rock and severely damaged it. Then all the inventory of the altar, paintings and ceiling with minor damage was evacuated and saved.
